Vanessa Hudgens: The star of the High School Musical movies has a valid reason to be mad this week. A personal photo of her nude has found its way to the internet without her permission. It is the real deal. Hudgens, who currently dates “HSM” co-star Zac Efron, needs to get a good lawyer and nail the person responsible for putting up the picture of her that has the potential to end her relationship with the family-friendly Disney folks. The 18-year-old actress has not told reporters who betrayed her yet. Her picture is already featured on numerous blogs in American and overseas. It will be impossible for Hudgens to force everyone take it down.

Britney Spears: The comeback is on. MTV announced this afternoon that Spears will open the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, September 9 at 9PM ET. The singer will perform her new song “Gimme More,” which will create an interesting problem for the censors. She begins the song with the phrase “It’s Britney, Bitch.” One of the taboo words — think with an “F” in your mind — is also part of the tune. MTV Mobile will carry a live simulcast of the show, a first ever for an awards show. TVNow has heard “Gimme More” and thinks that the song will be a hit for the troubled star who keeps on making bad press for herself. Jude Law: It’s time for TVNow to call in Sherlock Holmes to get to the bottom of this story. Scotland Yard is on Law’s case and the facts need to be examined by someone with an eye for details. The Times of London reported that the star of The Talented Mr Ripley was rip-roaring mad at a photographer yesterday who tried to snap some shots of the actor in front of his home in the Maida Vale district of West London. Law was arrested for allegedly attacking the camera crazy and released on bail. He was told to return to the police station next month, after the local authorities have time to examine all information related to the incident. Law’s new movie, Sleuth, will premiere in select American cinemas on October 12. That gives him two things to look forward to next month.

Jerry Lewis: Congratulations are in order for the funny man who has been serving as the driving force behind the Muscular Dystrophy Association Labor Day Telethon for forty-two years. The televised Monday event raised $63.7 million, beating last year’s record $61 million haul with ease. The International Association of Fire Fighters contributed almost half of the total with $25.2 million raised during its local “fill the boot” drives around the country. At 81, Lewis is like that Energizer Bunny that seems to never slow down. He told his viewers, “We’ll be here every year as long as I’m breathing in and out.” That’s good news for all of us. (more…)
